Peavy dealt to the Giants
The San Francisco Giants are currently in the thick of the playoff race and to go deep into the playoffs they realized that they would need to add key pieces to their roster which is what they did on Saturday as they acquired starting pitcher Jake Peavy from the Boston Red Sox. In exchange for Peavy, the Red Sox acquired pitching prospects Heath Hembree and Edwin Escobar. This is the 2nd time that Peavy has been traded in the past year and he will likely fit in at the top of the Giants rotation along with Madison Bumgarner and Tim Hudson.
