New York Yankees pitcher Ivan Nova has been placed on the 15-day DL after he partially tore his UCL in his right elbow in a 16-1 loss to the Rays on Saturday. Mark Texeira was also reinstated from the 15-day DL on Sunday to replace Nova on the roster and Vidal Nuno will likely replace him in the rotation.

Alex Gonzalez was just acquired in a trade by the Tigers on March 24th and he was even the opening day starting shortstop for Detroit, but he has struggled since that point and the 37-year old was officially released by the Tigers on Sunday.

The New York Knicks missed the playoffs for the 1st time since 2010 and now their head coach Mike Woodson is in jeopardy of losing his job as the Knicks are expected to make a decision on whether to keep him or not this week.

Aldon Smith has gotten into quite a bit of legal trouble recently and according to multiple reports the 49ers are leaning towards not picking up the team option that he is eligible for after the 2014 season.
