The Cleveland Browns have been one of the surprise teams of the 2014 NFL season, but now they will have star center Alex Mack not playing for the rest of the year as the team placed him on injured reserve on Friday with a broken left fibula.

It was announced on friday that Pittsburgh Pirates bench coach Jeff Banister has been named the new Texas Rangers manager on Thursday. Banister spent 29 years within the Pirates organization as both a player and a coach, but he will inherit a Rangers team that lost 95 games last season.

The NHL announced on Friday that the Nashville Predators will be the host of the 2016 all-star game. Nashville hosted the 2003 NHL draft, but they have yet to host an all-star game due to the lack of a big enough downtown convention center.
