Mike Woodson has been fired as the head coach of the New York Knicks. The Knicks missed the playoffs for the 1st time since the 2010 season in 2013 as Woodson went 109-79 since taking over late in the 2011 season with the Knicks.

Rolando McClain just came out of retirement last week for the Baltimore Ravens, but now he has again retired from the NFL today at age 24 to pursue a degree at the university of Alabama and he will try and correct his legal troubles because he was arrested 3 times in a 11-month span recently.

New York Yankees pitcher Ivan Nova has been placed on the 15-day DL after he partially tore his UCL in his right elbow in a 16-1 loss to the Rays on Saturday. Mark Texeira was also reinstated from the 15-day DL on Sunday to replace Nova on the roster and Vidal Nuno will likely replace him in the rotation.

Rick Adelman has not had much success the past couple of seasons in Minnesota as a head coach and at the age of 67 after 1,042 wins over 23 seasons he has decided to retire from coaching. Adelman will now remain as a consultant in the Timberwolves organization.

Tyrone Corbin took over the Utah Jazz after Jerry Sloan resigned in early 2011, but Corbin hadn't been that successful with the Jazz as he only compiled a 112-146 record in 3 seasons as he was fired by Utah on Monday after a dismal 25-57 2013 season.
